I can’t begin to express my amazement at how the No Comfort Zone challenge is impacting my life. I’m stepping out of my zone without thinking about it and then, afterwards, saying “I can’t believe I just did that.”
Case in point. A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine bought two copies of my book; one for her and one to give to her doctor. I thought that was pretty cool. Imagine my surprise when I received an email from my friend yesterday telling me her doctor had read my book, cover to cover, and wanted to order copies to make it available to her patients.
But wait, it gets better. As I was answering my friend’s email, I had the thought to ask if her doctor would be willing to write a review of my book. And, before all the self talk of “get real, the woman is a doctor, she’s not going to have time to write down something about your book. I mean seriously, she’s a doctor” – I added the request of a review to the email and sent it. oh my.
Well, are you ready for this? Today I received this from said doctor:
As a family physician with many patients with fibromyalgia, I am eager to learn whatever I can about how to treat this condition more effectively. Therefore, I was excited to be given the book “What I Know About Fibro” and I read it with great anticipation. I read it from cover to cover, in one sitting! I found Joss’s story engaging, honest and believable. Her ideas about what caused the fibromyalgia matched with what I was seeing with my own patients. Her insights about what to do about it were helpful. I especially liked the exercises she gave at the end of each chapter. I liked that the chapters were bite sized, concise, and informative.
I would highly recommend Joss’ book to any fibromyalgia sufferer, and I will be recommending it to each of my own patients with this frustrating condition. I am so glad to be able to offer my patients hope. Someone has been able to find a way out and is offering suggestions for them too.
Thank you Joss!

it’s what I’ve dreamed of through this whole process, you know.
Hurray! I am not surprised however, you have a voice that demands to be heard. Isn’t it amazing how we when we walk through fear that what we always wanted sits on the other side?
that’s an incredible insight! I’m going to write that one down “when we walk through fear what we always wanted sits on the other side”. What a great quote to start the week with. Walk in beauty.
Joss, this is just simply the best news I’ve heard in a long time! Keep on goin’, you wonder! Congrats.
Many Congratulations for this achievement! What a beautiful reward for challenging yourself, that too when it happens without even knowing !

for an introvert, who has spent too much time wondering about being noticed, it’s a big stepping out. But for a great purpose and that makes the difference. It’s not about me, it’s about reaching out to help. thank you for being present here.
I am in awe that this has happened to you Joss – you must be over the moon (I think we all are, for you!) To get a book published is hard enough, but to have an endorsement by a doctor is exceptional.
Your dream of helping people who suffer with fibro is coming to fruition at last and the hope you give those people is priceless.
And to think – it all came about through blogging – amazing!
I’m so happy for you Joss, my heart is bursting with joy!
oh Barb, thank you. I can feel the energy around me from you and others here who cheer me on and celebrate who I am. It’s a wondrous happening.
That is just so awesome Joss, congratulations. Keep stepping out – or should I say striding out!!!
striding out? when I think of that it’s all a bit scary. and yet the thought of it generates excitement as well.
Way to go, Joss! What a huge leap out of your zone and into victory! Congratulations. As one who has suffered from this condition, I am so thrilled so many are hearing about it from you. How can I get copies of the book?

I’m so pleased for you! Joss, this is wonderful…congratulations! Amazing what happens when we allow ourselves to open up, let go and just be. You inspire us and I just know your book will touch many hearts. Much love to you…xoxoxo
so true Jackie, open up, let go and just be! The Divine steps right up beside us and moves mountains. blessings.
You must be so proud to have actually written a book and have it endorsed! I have a friend who suffers from fibromyalgia. I will have to steer her to your site. I also wanted to say how visually appealing your site is to view. I have looked at many other sites and this one really stood out. Good luck to you!
thank you for passing the information on and also for liking the site. I changed it to this format in January and quite like it. The image I use is a drawing a friend of mine did for me superimposed on a picture of the full moon in my back field. A lot of layers of meaning, perhaps that is part of what you sense.

Oh Lord..Joss..I knew you had a winner…WAY TO GO..MY FRIEND..YAY…!!
ya know Chris, the whole process became real when you and your wondrous editing skills became involved. That’s when I knew I was really writing a book!!
Joceline, I`m so happy for you. That`s wonderful that a doctor recommends it. I gave Joan your web site and she ordered one for her friend in Alberta who suffers from Fibro. You must be on cloud nine. What a blast of good will coming to you. And you so deserve it for all your work. LoL.
yes, that book is on its way to Alberta already. Thanks so much.
Well done Joss. I too am jumping for joy for you.
I have directed a fellow blogger to you to read about your book and hopefully purchase a copy and I have brought it to the attention of my god-daughter in London who has just been diagnosed with fibro.
Thanks Judith. Word of mouth is what is making this happen. Most copies have been sold to people I do not know. I’m just so honoured and humbled that the message of healing is getting out to people.
OH my goodness! Way to go Joss! And the thing is — this person had the option to say NO and you went ahead and asked anyhow! But the best part is the credibility she gave your book. Now patients near and far and their families will read that intro and KNOW this is the book they want to buy!
I am so proud of you and keep wondering what next week will bring in the NoCZ-12 Challenge!!
I honestly didn’t expect anything would happen but knew I had to ask or keep on being stuck in a place I don’t want to be. This challenge is truly changing my life. thank you for putting it forward because, of course, you could have simply decided no one would go for it and let the idea die a quick death. Look what you have wrought!
That is SO AWESOME, Joss!
What an opportunity to help people!
it’s so what I want – for people to hear and to know that there is hope beyond this diagnosis.
This is the best thing I’ve heard in a very long time!!! I can actually feel how you’re feeling, Joss! Not only am I happy for you [I'm overjoyed], but also the Dr and her patients … here’s someone offering HOPE instead of all the *learn-to-live-with-it* stuff … This is fibro on a positive note, and it’s all thanks to YOU!
I truly feel happiness inside now thanks to this … this must be blogging at its best, as the No Comfort Zone came out of blogging!
WP should post this on the Freshly page..
HUGS
You know, Reb, you’re right. This is the power of blogging and the community of support and adventure that we have created here. And yes, it’s so wonderful to know there are doctors out there who truly care and want to help. Imagine a doctor reading a book by a nobody just in case it might help her patients. I’m awed.
I’m not sure it does get better than that, how wonderful….and I love the point you made about doing it before all the self talk got in the way, oh my, how I understood that one…and good to know that there are compassionate practitioners who really want to understand and help.
Good for you! I need to get on the stick and order mine! Congratulations to you, couldn’t think of a more deserving person.
heh heh. I just ordered copies myself as all the ones I had are sold now. Isn’t it wonderful to see that there are doctors out there who truly care and want to learn and grow in order to help their patients. I’m humbled to be a small part of that.
…..bursting the bubble does have it’s advantages & rewards,Joss…..and you are starting to reap them now.
be good to yourself
David
it’s a heck of a journey David!
Wow! I am so proud of you. Just look back to where you were a year ago and look at you today. Isn’t this something to be proud of? Think of the repercussions of this doctor recommending your book. We could be talking about poublishing in larger numbers here. Joss, this is so wonderful and there is no way we can tell where and how far it’s going to go? Huts.
It is exciting. Every copy sold means at least one person is hearing the message of hope and healing. Thank you for your always loving support.
Wow….that is WONDERFUL!….in sooo many ways!!… that she found the book so helpful, that she’s recommending it to others, that she wrote such an excellent review for it…and equally important….that you just went ahead and asked her to write a review WITHOUT even going through all the “what if’s” and “yah, buts…”…that is sooooo wonderful…I’m so happy for you…
I know eh. it is all just wonder-filled! Thank you for such a thoughtful comment.
Can I even tell you how excited I am for you? Happy DANCE! Woo HOOO! Go Joss! Go Joss! Go Joss! OMG! Yaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!! Seriously big, HUGE GRIN here!! Peace and blessings Joss! Yaaaaayyyyyy!!!!!!
thanks sweet Mary. i feel like every cell in my body is doing a happy dance right now. It is so validating to have a review like this. I put my heart and soul into that book because I wanted women to truly understand that there is hope and healing.
YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!! Way to go! This is even more that just awesome! It’s super awesome!
it’s so wonderful to share my excitement with ya’ll and to see it reflected back to me. thank you for the “YAY”s.
